In community album: Other Holidays
I made this cake for a faculty lunch at my children's school right before Purim. It is traditional to give baskets of food to friends filled with various goodies so I filled my basket with hamentashen (traditional Purim cookies), mini cupcakes, and chocolate pieces. Other symbols of the holiday are to give money to the needy, the three cornered hamentashen cookies, masks and graggers (noisemakers). 1/2 chocolate/1/2 yellow cake with all buttercream decorations (with the exception of the basket contents). Thanks for looking!

Very cute. Are the hamantaschen in the basket fondant or real cookies?

Thanks! :D The hamentaschen are real cookies. It was just easier (and yummier) that way.
