My first ever cake entry! For the Central Florida Fair. My first time covering a dummy cake, making a pearl border, making a rope border, making pleats, making draping, making "jewels" (they were supposed to be hard candy but they didn't turn out so well), and using my clay extruder and molds. I learned my lesson though, next time I will not do so many firsts. It all took longer than I had planned and didn't end up getting everything done. There was supposed to be a bigger flower on the bottom tier, but it broke, there was supposed to be piped scrolls above the bottom tiers rope border and around an initial plaque on the first tier (which didn't make it on either, but that was by choice). There was also supposed to be borders around each "jewel, even more on the ones on the hearts, as they were supposed to represent peacock feathers. My cake was supposed to be a mild peacock reference, mainly the colors. I wil have to start extra early next year! Thanks for looking.
