Company Anniversary

I made this cake for a publishing company celebrating their 40th anniversary. They do newspaper comic strips, books and calendars like Dilbert, Cathy, Garfield, Ziggy, etc. The bottom book was carved from a 11x15. The book on top from a 9x13. The spines were made to look just like 2 of the books they've published. The round tier is an 8" round that is 8" tall. I wanted it to look like a comic strip. I cut the characters out of fondant and freehanded them. I used edible markers. On top are day-to-day calendars. One has the anniversary date in 1970 and the other has the current date. They were styrofoam covered in fondant. I also made the cell phone out of styrofoam and covered in fondant. I made cupcakes to go along with it and cookies too, but I don't have pictures of the cookies yet. I had to make 150 cookies.
