In album: cone
Another of my regular castle cakes but I think the background makes it look a bit nicer...also made to sort of go with the princess party theme colors (pink castle and purple accents). The only thing I really don't like is I used an aerosol can of pearl dust instead of my airbrush and I felt it went on terribly uneven and heavy....I guess I can say I meant it that way. Oh well. Anyway cake is buttercream with impression mat bricks and turrets are ice cream cones coated in melted candy. Fondant accents and flowers.

Just adorable - straight into my favorites! did you cut the bottom of the cake so you get the turrets in so close and neat? Please share. Thanks ;-D :princess:

Amazing and very girly. Love the turrets and the little flowers. How did you do the little yellow one?
Kitagrl 2/12/10 at 12:29pm
The tiny flowers are just the wilton...can't remember the name...where you just push the little thing and out pops a tiny flower or leaf or something.

Absolutley AWESOME! I love it! I have been searching for one to replicate for my little girl. She will be 4 and really wants a princess castle!

You say the cake is butter cream with impression mat....forgive me for being new to that concept...doesn't the buttercream stick or do you do it after it crusts? I have to do one of these in a few week and I just love this. The customer wants buttercream...this would be great. Thanks for answering
Kitagrl 5/26/10 at 11:22am
Yes you just wait until the buttercream crusts up, maybe 30-45 minutes, and then gently use the impression mat. Good luck!

I have tried to use pearl dust on melted candies and I can not get it to stick. How did you do this? What color were the candies and the pearl dust?
Kitagrl 7/1/10 at 9:01am
I used an aerosol can of pearl spray for this particular one...or airbrush works too.
