A Hawaiian luau Sweet 16 Birthday Party inspired both mother and the guest of honor to request this cake. It was a pleasure to make this for the guest of honor as she is quite a remarkable young lady! The hula girl cake was made using Wilton's Wonder Mold (which included the top half of a Barbie doll). The tiki-inspired name plate was made using fondant. Letter stamps and fondant tools were used to carve the name plate to make it look like wood. Fondant was also used to make the flowers and bikini on the Barbie. It was a fun cake to make.
