First ... Thank you to everyone on CC for all the inspiration for this cake. Second ... I LOVE THIS CAKE!!! =) Hahahaha! =) My FIL loves PBJ sammies but has recently developed a severe nut allergy & is no longer able to eat his beloved PBJ. I figured this would be the closest thing to it for him. It is an 8"x2" square cake that I cut & carved to resemble a slice of bread. I then filled the "sandwich" with chocolate vanilla buttercream for the PB & canned cherry pie filling for the jelly. Then all I had to do was cut it in half & it was ready to serve. It tasted absolutely delicious too! So much better than I could have imagined. =)
