WASC cakke (scratch no cake boxes) with doche de leche filling. Originally was a 8 square, but i trimmed it down b/c the cake had too much browning on the edges. Fondant on the sides. The band is gumpaste formed over a small coffee cup. Silver dagrees and painted in nu silver luster dust. The original stone was purchased from Michaels. I used the CopyFlex Liquid from makeyouownmolds.com to make a copy and then poured sugar in to get a fully edible cake presentation. What is not pictured is the lid of the ring box that stood up behind the ring. Hopefully the client will send me a pic so i can post the full assembled cake. TFL happy new year.

Such a cool cake! Great job! Is the diamond one of those glass ones that you use for table decorating?

Thank you for the kind comment. The original gem/diamond came from Michaels. I used the CopyFlex Liquid from makeyourownmolds.com. I used pured sugar (took a couple tried to get it clear without bubbles). Both weigh a lot, so the cake was transported un-assembled and i placed the stone on at arrival.

Great cake and a perfect diamond. Did you used granulated sugar or isomalt to make this amazing gem? Happy New Year!!! :)

OMG you and I must think alike! I use copyflex too and saw that "diamond" at Michales and thought of making the same ring! Thanks! Now I know!!! Beautiful!

I used granulated sugar, and heated it in the microwave. First time using the micro method - im happy with it - i feel its less messy than stovetop.. Anyone who want to try molding - go for it. Michael also sells a mold builder from castin craft. i usded that to mold bottle and other object. cheaper than buying them LOL.
