My 2Nd Wedding Cake Ever! Calla Lillies!

The bride wanted a smooth, marshmallow-fondant three tiered wedding cake with bright blue ribbon around each tier. She also wanted cascading calla lily coming down the side. I made the calla lilies, leaves, and white filler flowers out of gumpaste. The cala lilly centers were dipped in cornmeal to get the pollen-like texture. I attached everything by creating a big vine---wire wrapped in floral tape, and attached it to the cake by wire. I thought it turned out really well! Especially since I'm barely starting cake decorating. M y only disappointment was the second tier--if you look hard enough you can see the cake layers. I dirty frosted it and made sure the fondant was thick....how do you hide it???? Any advice would be greatly appreciated for future projects. Thanks!
