Duck Pate & Farmhouse Bread

B-day cake for my friend's 40th. Her favorite food is foie gras and it's too gross looking to make into a cake. So, a can of duck pate was the next best thing. And apparently it goes well with farmhouse bread. Loaf of farmhouse bread is choc WASC filled with choc BC covered with MMF, can of pate is coconut cake (her fave) filled with vanilla BC and covered with vanilla satin ice. Napkin is MMF and card is gumpaste/fondant. Thanks for looking!

It's really delicious. Foie gras means fatty liver: it is the liver of a goose that has been fed only bread, so the liver becomes fatty. It has a silky, melt-in-the-mouth texture and a very delicate flavor so I often order it here https://www.gourmetfoodstore.com/foie-gras-and-pate/foie-gras. I think it tastes like perfectly braised, melt-in-your-mouth pork fat (such as from pork brisket) combined with beef marrow, leaning more towards a buttery texture.
