In community album: Cupcakes!
These are some jumbo Wizard of Oz cupcakes I did for a friend's birthday; she is obsessed with the Wizard of Oz. The cupcakes themselves are vanilla Duncan Hines tinted with Wilton gel colors (see other photos in set). I'm somewhat happy with the way the designs turned out, though I was tired by the time I did the "Surrender Dorothy" piping. Still, a fun project for a friend! Thanks for looking. :o)

Sure thing, SugarMa79, I'm glad to share. The upside-down rainbow shape was a bit of a fluke. I suspect it's because the last batters I layered (blue and purple) were sitting out as I layered the other colors (about 10 minutes after tinting all the batter). Then I just layered each color in the jumbo cupcake liners and used a spatula to spread to the edges. It didn't sink, which is nice. Time consuming, but a fun effect! hope it works for you. :D
