In community album: 2009 Twilight New Moon Cake Contest
I did this cake for my friend Carolyn's daughter Anna. It is a 1/2 sheet cake simply iced with buttercream. The book was made by baking a thin cake in a 1/4 jelly roll pan; then cut in half and stacked. The edges were cut for clean lines. It was iced in buttercream and wrapped in black marshmallow fondant and placed on the sheet cake. The peony was hand painted with piping gel, coloring gel, and buttercream. "New Moon" was piped in Royal Icing and dusted with Silver powder. The author was done in buttercream. The girls LOVED it and even used the pics on their phone. I am self taught and feel very blessed with how this turned out.
