In community album: Bridal Shower
Bridal Shower cake for a friend of the family. Bride's colors were lilac and white but she wanted neon daisies for the shower. I was very new to cake decorating and my mistakes are obvious but she loved it. The cake was vanilla flavored yellow with buttercream frosting. Topper was made from gumpaste/fondant and the cake decorations were fondant. Thanks for looking.

Neon Daisy Cake

WOW!! This is sooo cool! What a great Bridal Shower cake!!Were the flowers hard to make? They look gorgeous!!

Thanks Lovepug! The flowers were made with 3 different sizes of daisy cutters. I just stacked the daisies from largest to smallest and overlapped some for fullness. The smallest petals near the center were made with the smallest cutter and cut into fourths. Each fourth was folded and glued to the flower, then the brown center was added. Now, I understand that they shouldn't be too thick and should dry before assembly. I've also learned that you can cut each petal and thin them for a more realistic look...
