This was my very first cake ever using fondant. I made it for my Twilight obsessed daughter's 12th birthday party. The bottom tier is a 2-layer red velvet cake covered in black fondant, the middle tier is chocolate and vanilla checkerboard cake with a fondant checkerboard design and the top layer is a 2-layer marble cake covered in white fondant. The chess pieces were also fondant made by my 12 year old daughter and her friend. The whole process was very time consuming, but was very fun to make. I now have also read the entire Twilight series and am also very hooked. We can't wait to go see New Moon at midnight in just 11 days. Twilight rocks!
