The hat is a 8" rnd 3" deep cake that I carved like a hat and then plaved on a 10" rnd cake board bent into the shape of a hat rim. Then I covered all with star tips! Thanks for the coment. I enjoyed making it and then at the party the birthday boy had his very own cake to eat and make a mess with!!!
