won blue ribbon at 2009 nc state fair... inspiration.. branka2008... thank you all4 cakes for showing me how you would do it.. i dried 1"x41/2" fondant panels.. cut with fmm straight frill cutter(cuts 9 at the time)(cuts the edges and  the little flower) . dried them over wilton plastic dowels.. worked great.. dusted with tangerine and augergine dust at top and bottom of panels.. dusted tops of  cake with american beauty dust. pearl sprayed whole cake.. fondant covered board  impressed with small pme rolling tool.. i would use  tylose in my fondant ..if i had it to do again. the lites at the fair and humidity messed up some of the panels.. gumpaste, bird of paradise. bougainvilleas. and hibiscus.palm leaves, hibiscus and bougainvillea. leaves, buds, etc.. used both nick lodge and scott woolley tutorials.. was fun to make .. lotta work.. thanks for looking
