I made this hat for my amazing husband! He turned 35 and loves our Oregon State University Beavers Football team! He has a hat just like it, so I copied it for him...he was amazed! I carved the hat from 5-9" vanilla butter round cake layers after I filled it with butterfinger buttercream! Oh yuuummmy! I set the hat up on a wedge so that when I attached the bill, it looked like a real hat - real hats don't sit flat on the counter. This was my very first hat, so I was really happy with how it turned out - although I'd like to find a way to make it look more like fabric and not leather?! - any tips??
