This is a birthday cake I made for my sister in conjunction with our Halloween party. The book is coconut cake covered in fondant. The cauldron is red velvet cake covered with a mixture of dark modeling chocolate and black fondant. The cauldron top is covered in green fondant and topped with green isomalt and gumpaste "steam". The skull is modeled out of fondant, white modeling chocolate and gum tex which was allowed to set and then painted for shadow effects.
