I did this cake tonight in class. Chocolate buttercream with chocolate cake. Royal flowers and bc leaves.

Really nice job! Your chocolate is so rich and deep! Lovely! How did you do the sticks (can you tell I'm not a botanist?) in the center of the flowers? Really, really lovely!

Thank you everybody! :) Cranberry, I just took some thick royal icing and kinda gobbed a little onto the stamen while I twisted it around. I was trying earlier in the summer to make hibiscus, but it didn't turn out too well. So, I just saved them and ended up using them last night.

Thank you mamafrog, sgirvan and bethanne!!! Y'all are so sweet! sgirvan, I just added one cup of cocoa powder to my normal buttercream and a little more liquid as necessary. I then added 1/2 jar of brown powdered color (this is for one 2lb recipe) That is what made it look darker. Thank you again for the compliments!!!!
