Great cake! Can you give a little more description on how you did it? The structural support and such? Thanks!
alimonkey 10/1/07 at 11:11am
Actually, there's not any structural support. I did this in a class with Bronwen & the cake was high-ratio pound cake - not much flavor, but super dense. 3 9" rounds stacked, then the cake board, then (I believe) 3 6" rounds. The vertical indents were carved, the face was just sculpted into the fondant and icing, then the whole thing airbrushed.

how thick was the fondant in order to sculpt the face into the cake?

Very Bronwen-esk! Good job

It is very similar to the one on the challenge! How thick did you have to put the icing to sculp the face into the fondant?

Very nice! I immediately recognized it as the Challenge cake style!
