Ivory With Chocolate Scrollwork --- Martha Stewart Design

Ivory With Chocolate Scrollwork --- Martha Stewart Design on Cake Central

For a Chocolate/Ivory themed wedding tonight at a very Art Deco venue. Worked perfectly!

I did the scrollwork in dark brown royal icing instead of chocolate, as it is an easier medium for me to work in. Fondant was Ivory White Chocolate.

Sizes are 6", 9", 12" and 15". Spiced Carrot Cake filled with Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting.

Thanks so much! Hopefully it taste better then the Wilton brand. That's the only one I've tried and tought it was discusting. My familly didn't mind it tough, go figure...

actually i really like the White and the Ivory flavours. I think they are pretty yummy...the Chocolate is good, but heavy and I don't really care for the scent of it.

I used an Ateco #2...which I think is practically a Wilton #1. It took me 5 hours to pipe this beast! Each tier is 4.5" tall.

Antonia ~ Your cakes & cookies are the best I've ever seen... SERIOUSLY!!! All of your stuff ends up in my favorites!! :)

fantastic job. I did something similar resently, but it did not turn out near as professional. I need some more practice, but it still got rave reviews.

about 5 hours. I worked really slowly and carefully...because once the dark icing was down, there was no way to adjust it without a major smudge!!

on

ok, absolutly beautiful! 5 hours just for the scrollwork......as we all seem to have pricing problems here how much did you charge for that cake?

About 2 per weekend, on average. Maybe 3 or 4 orders in the summer months. I do a lot of cookie orders too, as people use them for showers, rehersal dinners, coporate events and wedding favours.

Just beautiful! You say you buy your fondant, what brand do you use if I may ask? Also you charged CAD$ so I assume you're canadian. So am I, do you know if there is a good place to buy fondant in the Toronto area? I don't have a mixer and would rather buy then do it by hand!

Juliet --- McCall's Cake Supply in Etobikoke and Golda's Kitchen Supply in Mississauga sell the McCall's brand fondant in 3 flavours...White (vanilla), Ivory (White Chocolate) and Dark Brown (Chocolate).

Your scroll work is AMAZING! my hand shakes too much when I do piping and scroll work- guess I need to lay off the coffee!

Aboslutly and entirely fantastic! Good idea with the royal icing. I've always wanted to do a cake like this- someday I will and I'll aspire to achieve the perfection you have!

This is great..I didn't know royal icing works great on fondant too. I did mine with chocolat it didn't turn the way I was expecting and was so hard...I love this so much

Your scrollwork is great, I have to do some next month. Still not very good as you can tell on my pink/brown cake. Your scrollwork looks flat "into the cake". Is it just te picture or do you flatten it??

:D  Most beautiful cake ever seen. Amazing work. I saw the Picture 6 Days Back. Yesterday was our Wedding Anniv. so I tried to make the same, but alas after completing 60% scroll work my Disposable bag bursted on the cake. everything got messed up. Then I had to merge the chocolate icing with white to give a marble effect Decorated it with Chocolate curls and marscino cherries. keep it up. Thanks 4 a beautiful design. will try again in a day or two.
