This cake was made for a competition at one of the largest sugarcraft events in the UK.
It combines a ribbon effect with white primroses and blossoms.
The white collar runs around the outside of the bottom tier. It has cut outs of flowers and leaves.

Wow. This is the cake I took at picture of at one of the Squires kitchen shows erlier this year. I loved your cake it was fab. How on earth did you do the white collar around the bottom tier. I tried it and ended up throwing the whole thing away. How did you get on in the competition? Well done on your design and how perfect it looked.

Thanks Shelly, what a coincidence! it was a lot of trial & error and some of it did go in the bin. The thing to watch out for is stress points in teh collar - if the cut outs are too close there will be thin strips of fondant in between which will snap easily. I did the colour with fondant and added some gum tragacanth but if I did it again I would use a stronger modelling paste.
