Calla Lilly cake

The bride designed this cake - top to bottom. She loved it! It's chocolate cake and white velvet cake with a raspberry filling. Italian Merigue Buttercream Icing. Large sugar crystals in the icing (boy did they sparkle under the spotlight!) Gumpaste Calla Lillies.

Thanks guys! The sugar crystals are just those larger sugars - usually used for cookie decorating, etc. I got them from www.cakedeco.com (pheil & holing)

I did a much smaller cake using sugar crystals like this, and I remember what all I had to do to get the little boogers to stick, so I am truly impressed at a cake this size COVERED in those crystals... KUDOS!

That is gorgeous!! I love it! I think I might've been a bird in a previous life as I love shiny, sparkly, crystal-like things!! :lol:
