I figured, since Spiderman 3 was out I would give the kids the option of having the regular spiderman colors or combine both the black Spiderman and the red one. The kids love the Spiderman cakes.

of all the ones, this is my favorites, do you have a instructions on how to make this.. thank you

You need one 10 inch round and 2 8 inch round cakes. The 10 inch is to be quartered for the shoulders and the 8 in. cakes are for the chest. You can attempt using rice krispies for the head, but after trying that my first go around I found that the styrofoam head was better porportionate. I used a crusting buttercream frosting and after letting it set for about 10 min. use a smooth paper towel and lightly blot frosting smooth. Pretty simple cake. The webbing is the most time consumming.

where did you get the styrofoam head?
    Cherie31 5/26/10 at 4:34am
You can purchase the styrofoam head from any beauty supply store. Inexpensive :between $3-$5.

how many servings do u think in this cake?
    Cherie31 9/1/10 at 7:05pm
If they are kids size pieces of cake, I would guess about 20 people or more. It really is all in how you slice the cake. If you want small pieces, you could feed probably 25; if you have largers slices, probably 15 or slightly more people. I hope this helps.

so let me see if I understand, the head is storifoam, this mean the cake is only neck and body, right, thanks
    Cherie31 9/29/10 at 6:59pm
Yes, that is correct. The head/neck is styrofoam. But, you can use RKT's instead, it does not turn out as good.

This cake is awesome. I am new to cake central. What I would like to know is...if I got the styrofoam for the head...would I have to still mould and carve it? I much prefer this idea to the Rice Krispies...feel a bit nervous about that.
