Lovely work! There's a new thread here about candy clay and this cake just proves how awesome it is! Excellent job!

beautiful! Can you tell me what's the exact recipe you used for the chocolate clay? as well as the recipe for the mixture of clay and fondant. Thanks! Also, was it easy to cover the cake w/ the chocolate clay?

Thanks you all so much. This was my first time covering a cake and making roses and drapes with anything like this. To hear so many nice compliments brings joy to my heart after such a long hard weekend with this cake. (loveqm ~ I'll pm you).

That's an amazing cake. I just followed your threads since the begining and know I don't have words to describe on how beautifully and accurate your cake came about from the inspiration photo the bride brought you.

Thank you all again! The recipe I used was Candy Clay for Modeling and 3D Figures by the Admin. here at CC. I kneaded in about 1 T. Crisco per lb. to make it soft enough to cover the cake (as suggested by a fellow CCer :D ). The drapes are 1 part clay to 2 parts Wilton fondant.

Katy625 Great Job, lovely cake. Steady2Hands, your cake is absolutely beautiful. I know the work you put into it. I did a chocolate clay covered cake a couple months ago with dark, light and white chocolate. I wish I was aware I could mix the chocolate with fondant when I did my cake. It is in my photoes. I melted chocolate and poured it on the cakes first and then covered with roses and fans. Again, love your cake.
