In community album: 2009 Wedding Cake Contest
This cake was done for a special request of a blue, yellow, and white color palette. I loved working on this cake because it resembles tile work and it was done for a wonderful wedding coordinator friend. The technique used where cutouts. Each tile was hand painted. The hand paint work took 10 hours so do allow yourself plenty of time to accomplish this particular design. You can also do different shades of a particular color to resemble the uneven shades of a tile after it has been burnt in the oven. Thank you for viewing this cake. Enjoy!

I love the tile work. Did you hand paint each tile on the fondant or did you cut out each tile and then hand painted and pressed into fondant? I also wonder if you used colored choc. on acetate and cut choc. while it was still soft? Beautiful cake :)
