A friend asked me to make a cake to celebrate her daughter's high school graduation as well as 5 family members' birthdays. Rather than combine it all into one cake, I made 2 to sit side-by-side. The birthday cake is covered in buttercream and decorated with fondant. The pennants were made out of gum paste. The graduation cap was a carved 8-inch round cake covered in fondant.
