This is a princess cake we created for a four year old's birthday party. The back, sides and rainbow are made from foam board. The stars, flowers and writing on the rainbow are made from gumpaste. On the back of the cake the castle is made from gumpaste, the tree trunk is made from fondant and the tree leaves are made from an expanding spray foam covered with buttercream. The clouds are made from royal icing. On the left side of the cake is a dark purple tree made from gumpaste while the purple ground is made from buttercream icing with gumpaste stepping stones. On the right side of the cake the tree trunks, leaves and grass on the board are made from royal icing while the green gound is made from buttercream icing. In the center the cake, which is a 3/4 sheet, is white cake with strawberry filling and a french buttercream icing. All the flowers and leaves are made from gumpaste. The characters were all purchased from the Disney Store and/or Disneyland.
