My final cake for Wilton's Fondant and Gumpaste class, but wanted to use it as a "Thank You" cake for a party we had to appreciate all those who donated money to fight cystic fibrosis. (My daughter has this disease.) Fondant covered vanilla cake with strawberry and chocolate mousse fillings. Flowers and coins are gumpaste. The coins were cut to the right size from either gray or brown gumpaste then I pressed an actual coin into the gumpaste to imprint the faces (which you can't see too well in the picture). As a final touch I brushed the coins with silver or copper luster dust.
