This was for my son's 1st birthday. Huge thanks to sugarshack for the inspiration! The cake is covered and decorated in marshmallow fondant. The treasure chest is a RKT covered in fondant that I cut into planks and scored with a toothpick to look like wood. The "treasure" is also MMF, painted with gold luster dust. The pirate on the front and the scene the cake is sitting on was inspired by the party plates and napkins. The sand is crushed vanilla wafers, the water is blue piping gel, and my awesome husband made the sea serpent!
