This was a cake I made for a going away party for my brother who was leaving for a semester at sea. It was supposed to be a sinking ship (per his request!). I did absolutely no planning and gave no thought as to how to actually make a ship, or how to make it look like it was sinking, until I started to decorate the cake. Thats when I realized I had no idea what I was doing. I think I just kind of figured that I could cut a piece of cake, wrap it in fondant and stick it in the sheet cake at an angle and that would magically look like a sinking ship! And the best part is that we forgot to serve it! It was in a fridge in the basement and we realized after everyone left that we had never taken it out!
