Blue and Gold Banquet

This cake was made entirely by my DH and my 7 year old son. I have pics of them working on the cake from start to finish, they were so cute. This was for the Father/Son Cake Competition for Cub Scouts. They worked over 7 hours on this cake and DID NOT WIN!!!! There was NOTHING to compare with their cake, not even close - to this day I do not think the judges knew the hat was cake!

Wow! That IS impressive. You have me convinced :lol: I can't believe they didn't win, look at how smooth that cake is and the hat, it's great, love the patches on the sides too.

Wow, just wow...I saw the category and thought it was mis-marked...kudos to dad and son, this is incredible! And I agree, I'm completely befuddled on someone not winning with this cake.
