My friend found your cake on-line and emailed it to me to make for her BF's 40th just this past weekend - later I found it here on CC when I did a search for Star Trek cakes - what a coincidence! Thanks for the inspiration!

What a grand star trek cake; it is brilliant. I especially like your use of the boldy contrasting colours and the cake board. So often the cake board is totally forgotten.
