I like it better without the hearts too. Lovely purse. What did you cover the board with?

The "board" is actually an inexpensive picture frame (found at the dollar store) with wrapping paper under the glass. I know, I was apprehensive about the glass, but it worked out well. Found frames made out of plexiglass/acrylic but, they were too large. I live in a small town and resources are very limited for cake supplies and this was a last minute order.

your 1st time to use fondant?!! That cake looks perfect. I love the inventive cake board, too. Definitely a favorite.

In response to the handle question, I used a wire clothes hanger, took steel wool to it to make sure that it was clean, cut the hanger in half, formed the wire. added the fondant, and let it set overnight. I then inserted them when I had the base completed. :)
