This is a cake rendered after a kimono designed exclusively for our tanabata dance group. Made for my Senseis birthday, she had never before seen fondant and tried to pick up the ribbon thinking it was real. She was a little distressed when it ripped off in her hand. She thought the whole thing was a painted box with the cake under it. You can see the original kimono here
