This is my first tiered cake that I made for my 30th birthday party. It was a cuban/tropical theme. The cake is 6-8-10 inch. I used the SPS system for support which was awesome and so easy to use. The flowers and leaves on the sides are fondant cutouts. The flowers on top are gumpaste hibicus and plumeria (but you can't really see them)which I also made for the first time. Everything was painted with Americolor gels mixed with vodka. Credit for the cake design goes 100% to a cake I found on artofdesserts flickr photostream. Being the most labor intensive cake I have every made, I pretty darn proud of it, but I always welcome constructive criticism as I am self-taught and love getting feedback to help me learn more. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful! The flowers are amazing. I might have popped the tops of the SPS rods off so that each layer was flush with the next layer and then done a border between layers. But overall this is a great cake!
