In community album: Children's Birthday Cakes
2 nine inch layers topped with (2) 6 in layers covered in MMF. Mini-Mouse heads, bows dots, flowers and name are all MMF The tiny pink dots on the white bow are BC and the white dots on the tiny pink bows are too. Cake is sitting on a thick cake board covered with a piece of a black plastic tablecloth. This is sitting on a cystal cake plate. The ears are MMF with Gumtex added, rolled out thin and I cut 2 circles leaving a 1/2 inch "tab" at the bottom of each circle. I let them dry to get stiff then inserted tabs into cake just before the party. I used ribbon at the base of the top and bottom tier and around the cake board. This cake is heavy so you must use a heavy board. It was a HUGE hit at the party and here online!

This cake looks great. How did you make the ears and get them to stand up?

I would love to know how you got the ears to stand in place!! I'd like to try this one for my daughter's bday!!

For the ears I added Gumtex to the MMF. Cut out ears and lay flat on wax paper to dry. Once they are firm, add to cake just before serving.
