wow 8O never seen a gum paste basket before. I love the roses especially the intense pink one in the center. can you tell me what color it is? I also have to say those are the most realistic daisies I've seen. Most of them (mine included) just lay flat. How did you do them? congratulations on your well earned first prize.
Thanks Nannie. The intense pink rose is dusted first with petal dust, then gone back over with vodka to streak it and give it the look of the "Fourth of July" rose. To keep a daisy from laying flat, you form it then hook the end of the wire and hang it upside down so the petals will fall over the stamen. Shape it a little that way before you hang it and it will dry in place. HTH :D
