I made this just for fun...and I did have fun. Inspired by "The Cake Girls" version. Mine is chocolate cake, chocolate cherry cake, buttercream icing with fondant covering and accents. I don't have an airbrush, but I improvised. Your thoughts and suggestions are welcome. I've only been working with fondant for four months. I'd be happy to share how I made this shape if anyone wants to know.

Cute as can be! Maybe add a curved line to indicate a nose?

Thank you so much. As for my air-brushless technique LOL...For the mouth and eyelashes I used a knife to make the indentations first. Then for the mouth, eyelashes and border circle around face I use a toothpick and dotted on food color gel. Then I smeared it with my finger. I dunno :? but it seemed to work. For the cheeks, I put a few dots of pink food color gel and just swirled in circles with my finger. I think I may have stumbled on a new technique

This is just precious, I'd love your instructions on the shape, a friend of mine is having her first Grandchild and is calling the baby Peanut since they don't know the sex...what a great idea for a shower cake. My email is paula8305@sbcglobal.net if you don't mind sharing.

I would like to know how you made the shape. :) thanks
BAKE-ME-A-CAKE 3/25/09 at 12:11pm
I made this shape by baking two balls (sports ball pan). Space them apart from each other probably about 3 or 4 inches. Insert a dowel horizontally through both cakes so that you have the 3 or 4inches of visible dowel in between the two cakes. Then I molded rice krispy treats around the dowel to form that concave shape. My first time working with RK treats. I really liked working with it. I iced the whole thing in bc and covered with fondant. :)

if you can create this after working with fondant after only four months imagine what you can create with more practice. that's very nice of you to share your techniques. i am a newbie newbie on cake decorating so any techniques that use familiar household items makes it less overwhelming.

THis so adorable! I wish I would have had this at my shower! I always had called my little girl 'Peanut" when I was pregnant with her-so this is really special.
