I traced around a Hello Kitty image in the icing with a toothpick and then "colored"it in. For the lettering I printed off "Hello Kitty" and "Abigail" in the desired font, placed paper over cardboard and "traced" the lettering by poking a pin through the paper in to the cardboard, thus leaving a braille like impression of the lettering. I pressed the braille side on the cake and went over the lettering in icing. There may be a name for this method, but I do not know of it. I am terrible at freehand!
