This is a 6", 8", 10" 3 layer cake covered with fondant. The bottom is stenciled with royal icing and the cameo was made with a mold I bought. The flowers and pearls are gumpaste. Thanks for looking.
Thanks so much for the nice compliments! I wish I had thought to get a closer picture of the cameo but I was in such a hurry to get it delivered in time. It was really easy with the mold, though. Maybe I'll make another one.
Thanks! I bought the stencil from designer stencils .com. I made royal icing a medium/stiff consistency and applied it with a plastic bench scraper. It wasn't too hard once I go the hang of it.
so you find a pattern, make a stencil (or buy one). Then lay it on the cake and smooth the icing across it like a screen printing process? smoothing the icing over the stencil? Hmm....
