I made this cake for my brother's girlfriend. I took a 9x13 cake, cut in 3rds, stacked the 3 pieces, and carved the sides. This is my first purse cake that I've done. I used all buttercream. The handles are ribbons, because I've never used fondant or gum paste or anything like that and didn't really plan very well for that.
