I was a little disappointed with this cake. The buttercream was from a recipe I had never tried and it didn't hold the purple color well. The consistency was not quite right either. The top tier is yellow cake, the bottom is chocolate. The stars and bands of squares are fondant. The cutout of Dora and Boots was printed on regular paper. Even though it was not my best work, my daughter and her party guests loved it, and more importantly, it tasted really good! Thanks boween for the inspiration.
