In album: painting
11x15 chocolate sheet cake with raspberry filling and buttercream icing. The Scream was handpainted (freehand might I add) onto the cake using a paintbrush and colored buttercream. Thanks to everyone who helped me with the "how to's" to the "My cake broke". I couldn't have done this cake, nor finished it without everyone on CC who came to my rescue! I am super duper over the top pleased with this cake. I can't wait to present it tomorrow at work.

Oh wow you did awesome! I read your thread about the broken cake and was interested to see how it turned out. Yeah! Love the "50" plaque...great job!

Thank you so much. Again, I couldn't have pulled this off without everyone's help here on CC. Thanks again!

CSM: Absolutely wonderful! Since you and I are not Munch, we all fail to recreate it perfectly. I think you did a KICK A$$ job tho! Wish you would have put a border on there but that's personal preference.

CSM: Wow! Aren't you just the oil on canvas artist! So what if the oil is butter and the canvas is cake! The title placque was a great idea. You did a great job on this, Vicki. Congrats! ;-D

CSM: Sorry I missed the thread. You did a fantastic job on this. The left side of the cake is not straight but my goodness who cares. The painting you did is phenomenal!!!!

CSM: I too would have liked a bottom border. I think you did a fantastic paint job. looks just like an oil painting!

They LOVED it! I decided not to put a boarder on it, but thanks for the critique. I know it needed it, but nothing seemed to "fit" with this cake so I left it off. Everyone at work was in AWE! This is what makes caking worth it! It will be shame to see them cut into it today...I may just have to walk out or hold back my tears.

CSM: What a great finished look! I am blown away by the fact that this is bc on bc...you should indeed pat yourself on the back ;-D ! Would you please reply to the CSM Group thread and let us know the reaction? I can't wait to try this technique...hint: get ready for a lots of ??? from me.

8O Wow! For all the trouble you had, it turned out gorgeous! Great job! Don't let the little mishaps get you down. Trust me, they happen. It's all in how you handle it, and you handled it like a pro! Again, great job on the cake! :D

Oh, this is wonderful! Great colors and interpretation of the painting!
Daisys_Cakes 11/14/08 at 12:37pm
CSM: Wow! I could never do that! Perhaps a "frame" border would have been the icing on the cake.
