This was a suprise groom's cake ordered by the bride for her new hubby. 3D full body deer (Buck) lying in the grass and fall leaves.  Hand carved cake covered in fondant and airbrushed.  Gumpaste fall leaves with luster dust.

How did you transport this cake without the head fallen off? Beautiful job.

The head is secured with a pvc pipe down the center attached to a threaded floor flange and screwed to the board. Thanks for the comments, this was a really fun cake to make!

Thank you so much for the comments! I have had many ask how to make it.... The body is had carved out of 3 full sheet cakes, covered with white fondant and airbrushed.

I read that the cake head can be made out of rice crispy treats. Shape the head before the rice crispies harden. Anyone ever done this? I also read the antlers can be made from gingerbread cookie mix. Shape the antlers before baking???? I might try it.
