This was my son's first birthday cake and the whole reason why I started trying to make cakes. I was happy with how it turned out considering it was my first cake. The balls are fondant, the top of the cupcake was whip cream which started melting in the heat, and the rest is buttercream. We carved the cupcake out of 6 inch cakes. This was before wilton had their big cupcake pan!
