This was absolutly fun to do. It is all whipped icing. The carriage base is a special order I had made. I have another idea for another type of cake base I will have made.
great job...lucky girl...can you pm me the recipe you used for the whipped icing...you got it so smooth..is it easy to work with? Are your scrolls and all whipped? Thanks
The recipe for the whipped icing is a large container of Kraft whipped topping, this is important. Must be Kraft, I have tried all others and this is the best. You have to thaw it out completely. Pour it out into a large mixing bowl and buy any brand of dry vanilla pudding mix and add half the package to the whipped topping mix until the consistancy is good to work with. Do not over mix. This will make the whipped icing a little yellow but it tastes very good.
would like to know who maked your stand. my daugther's b-day is coming up and need a big carrige stand like this. thanks so much if you can help me out. this cake is awesome ;-D
These cake stands are all made by my husband and I have sold a few on ebay. I have a cake decorating shop in Bellmead, TX which is just north of Waco. I have checked into shipping some of these but since they cannot be broken down it would have to be shipped via freight service and that can run up to $200. But if you are ever in Texas you can look me up my shop's name is Special Occasion Cake Supplies. Thanks for looking!
