My daughter wanted a mermaid cake for her birthday. To make it more gender neutral, I decided on an under the sea theme. I made the creatures out of fondant and flexible molds. What fun! The sea shells are candy molds. Then I used blue spray over bc icing to give it a special look. The Barbie mermaid on top was a gift for my daughter and much easier than trying to make.
