In album: red-blue
8" round strawberry cake with strawberry filling and buttercream icing. Man caught in webs is made out of sugarpaste (MMF with tylose). On back of cake, I wrote "GOTCHA". The man caught in the webs represents the birthday guy who LOVES Spiderman. TFL. Critique Subgroup Member.

CSM: You did a really nice job and I love how neat your writing is. The only think I can say is that the blue isn't my favorite.

csm: I think it's adorable. I like how it looks like he's trying to pull his hand and foot loose. Your writing is great, too and the frosting is very smooth. The only thing I can say is I can barely see the man's facial features, maybe some painted detail would help?

CSM: You did a fantastic job incorporating your figure onto the cake. Your icing is perfectly smooth and your border looks great. I like how you added a thin line of black to it for more defintion. I would have went with a dark blue board to add some splash to the light blue on the cake and keep in line with the colors that go with spiderman.

Sweet !! :P

CSM: Once again great job on the figure! I agree also about the colour of the blue (a little darker for spiderman colours would have fit the theme better). Your writing is amazing as well! Great job putting it all together! :D

CSM: I love the idea of this cake and the 3D effect. again like the others, a deeper blue I think would have made the webs pop, though it would then have been harder to see the man's pants, overall, I really like this effect!!

CSM: great job on the man/webs. I agree about the color, perhaps it should have been red? I had to think a moment to realize those were eyes. But, I'm not a spidey fan...

CSM: This is such a cool cake! I love the writing on the back! My critiques are that I would have liked to have a darker blue and isn't there supposed to be something else in the eyes?

CSM: Really like the topper and the blue color. Not sure what the shapes on the front are supposed to signify. The red border with black top outline looks great.

What a cute concept! Well done! I would have liked to have seen a little more color for the background, but that's just me! Great job!

I just saw your cake in the "undernoticed..." thread - it's cute. Your figure is great - neat idea :)

What a great take on a spiderman cake. The webs are really cool!
