White cake with SMBC filling and Sugarshack's buttercream on the outside for smoothness.  Pink fondant ribbon, white buttercream dots, and gumpaste gift tag. I stuck my finger in the cake (upper left corner of the front panel) so there's a patch of mismatched icing there. I am a Critique Subgroup member so please feel free to comment!  Thank you.

The cake was a 10" square and 5" tall (four layers of cake and three of filling).

Critique subgroup member: Square is hard isn't it? Also simple is almost impossible too! I like your tag, bow and color. Your dots are bugging me for some reason and I don't know why, but this is well done and I would be pleased to receive it. BTW tag and board are perfect. Yes, you got the smushed corner but heck you knew it so why did I bring it up? Bad Tiptop57.

critique subgroup member: very impressed with the squareness! nice sharp corners and straight edges!! for me there are a bit too many dots, but dots always send my eyes buggy, so that could just be me?? overall.. great cake!

critique subgroup member: WOW...what an excellent square cake...especially since it is iced in BC. I love the 2 shades of pink. The bow is fantastic. Personally I like the dots. I see some slight flaws in the bc, but they do not take away from this cake at all! Great cake presented beautifully.

Critique group member: You did pretty well fore a square cake!THose are reallllllly hard to ice! My only suggestion to be to have done the dots with fondant insteadof BC which might have given it a cleaner look JMHO.

CSM: Great job with the edges and corners; love the pink color and the bow. I think maybe the dots could be a bit larger and spaced more apart.

critique member: I think you did a lovely job of frosting this cake...I really love the colors you chose. I think maybe the dots could have been a little more spaced and I think the bow slighty bigger. Other than that this is a very cute cake!

Thanks everyone. I made a buttercream cake with dots today and went with "larger and more spaced apart" ;-D
