how did you get the piped icing to have the white in the middle of the chocolate? Was it two or three bags in one?

Your piping skills are wonderful. Do you use impression matts or something else to put the design on the cake? It is so even all around. I too would love to know how you acheived the white icing in the chocolate in the bottom border. Great work as always

Thank you all for your lovely compliments!!! This cake is totally free-hand, I didn't use any impression (except of big circle in center). I put 2 color (chocolate and white icing) to same bag, that's it :)
    LisaMS 5/29/08 at 8:09pm
You are the freehand design queen! :-) Very beautiful and as always, so neat.

To make white in the middle on the piping I think she would put the dark in the piping bag on out side and the white in the center of the bad and it will come out that way....I cannot do what she does hahah but I have done that. :D
    madgeowens 6/10/08 at 9:25pm
oops I meant bag not bad...and I mean on the outside inside the bag LOL can't explain
    Jen80 5/25/09 at 7:14pm
    Smarty pants. It's beautiful!

Madgeowens, it is called striping the bag. :-) I do that in multi-colors especially for a child's party cake. One thick stripe of white down the bag, and fill the rest with chocolate, and it will stripe white for you. Beautiful work Thanh Thanh!
